That’s really cool things, but it’s so expensive for one site. I think better it’s for unlimited sites.

    • doug on March 19, 2013 at 1:19 pm

Sorry you feel that way. It’s on sale for half off right now and it pretty much in line with other sending options, WordPress or otherwise. It’s even less expensive than MailChimp or Constant Contact if you’re on their basic plan and integrates directly with WordPress, which they don’t do. And don’t forget our Free version of SendPress is very powerful too.

I want to buy this plugin, I wanted to take a doubt. Is it possible to log server, account and password specific to trigger emails? Or you can turn me into beta user so I can go with testing sending SendPress Pro? Thanks!

    • doug on March 22, 2013 at 10:51 pm

Glad to hear you are interested in the plug-in. It is currently on sale so you are in luck if you decide to purchase. I’m not sure what you mean by is it possible to log server, account, and password to trigger emails. Feel free to contact me through the contact form on the website and we can have a little bit more discussion about what it is you are trying to do.

You are also very welcome to post suggestions to our user voice page:

We don’t have a beta user program for SendPress Pro. If you would like to test out the plugin we encourage you to try the free version. The Pro version just adds some additional functionality that is necessary for true e-mail marketing. Hope that answers your questions.

    Hi guys,

Are there any plans to add an auto responder as a pro feature? I’d definitely pay for that!

    Cheers

    Cam

Absolutely. Auto responders will be added by the time we reach 1.0.

I am interested in SendPress Pro but have not had any luck in using the free plug in with my site as of yet. I was told that I would need to purchase a dedicated IP. Is this the case with Sendpress Pro as well? Also what differentiates Sendpress Pro from the regular free plug in?

    Thank you and best wishes

    -SGI

      This has the current features.

The pro version will allow you to send through 3rd parties and not be bound to the sending rules/limits of your hosting provider.

will sendpress send personalized e-mails to recipients? How is the initial email database downloaded? I have a client who wants to integrate his wordpress blog with an outbound e-mail newsletter as well as accepting on-line subscriptions. how do you separate campaigns? What is the privacy of each email recipient’s address?

    • doug on May 4, 2013 at 9:47 am

Thanks for the question. Here’s a quick rundown of the answer which I will also email to you.

Yes, we can send personalized emails. There are variables that can be entered into the email body for all the basic personalization you might need.

The email database can be imported from a comma separated file. Currently, it just needs to be copy and pasted in. Huge enhancements to file import are coming soon.

We separate campaigns by either list or by newsletter. I guess it depends on your definition of a campaign. You can have multiple lists and allow people to sign up in multiple different ways, using either a widget or a form that can be placed either on your site or another site.

Recipient email addresses are private as they are stored in the database. SendPress has Built-in permissions so you can make sure that only authorized WordPress users have access to specific functions inside the plug-in.

If you have any more questions about this, please reply to my email and I will do my best to answer them.

I’m currently using mailchimp for our newsletters. I love the way it handles out list but creating templates is a pain. Can I use this to create templates and send via mailchimp?

    • doug on May 11, 2013 at 2:27 pm

That’s an interesting idea. Definitely possible. I’d be curious how popular that feature might be. Could you post it on our uservoice page? http://sendpress.uservoice.com/

If mailchimp has custom smtp sending you could send through them with the custom smtp feature of SendPress Pro.

Hey Doug 🙂 … I want to have a list for each category in my blog and automatically send weekly summary of posts to subscribers in each list — is that possible with SendPress or SendPress Pro?

    • doug on July 29, 2013 at 10:03 pm

We are working on post notifications with daily and weekly summaries of posts emailed automatically. It will be a feature in SendPress Pro. We have lots of great new features planned over the next couple months. I don’t know if category selection will be part of the initial post notifications, but that is planned as well.

      • Daniel on October 5, 2013 at 5:28 am

        Hello,

I am waiting for the Post Notifications to change from Mail Poet to SendPress..I would like to know if with the automatic notifications, the option to create list by category will be available.

I advice you to check Mail Poet to see what is done already.

        Thank you
        Regards

        • doug on October 5, 2013 at 5:04 pm

Post notifications will be released in the next few weeks. We won’t have category subscriptions on the initial release but will be added shortly thereafter.

    HI,
Is there an option to check an email id is already subscribed or not, while trying to subscribe?

    • doug on August 5, 2014 at 11:09 pm

We do check to see if the user is already subscribed and we do not add them as a duplicate. They may still get a confirmation email.
